Who, Why? - Poem by Peter Bain
'I've run you a bath darling'
'A what.....who, eh? '
'Breakfast in 20'
I've barely opened my eyes
Here we go again
'Fancy a cup of tea honey? '
'Not really....... just leave'
'Nice bath darling? '
Why won't she leave?
Why is she here?
'This bedding needs changing'
'Out! ....get out, leave'
'I'll change it for you sweetheart? '
This is too much
Who is this person?
'Don't put on that jacket'
'Look, I'll leave instead, your not welcome'
' I'll get upset if you try and leave, I need you darling'
This woman is dark......scary
I need a friend
' I'll be waiting for you honey? '
' I don't know you, be gone before I get back '
'You're ungrateful darling, you'll be sorry '
Now it starts, she glides towards me
I notice her black dead eyes
'You will understand shortly darling'
' I just need peace, I'm so tired, please just go'
'Cuddles, you want a cuddle? '
She pulls me into her, my god she is cold
She has no reflection in the kitchen mirror
' We'll get through this, you're mine honey'
'But..I....please...just one day.....no more shit'
' I have something to show you dear'.
She opens the window and points to the ground twenty stories below
Some bald fat bloke was lying squished........looked a bit like me.
