Whom Should We Love Poem by Tanvi Nagar

Whom Should We Love

Rating: 5.0

"You aren't perfect for each other!
How can you two be lovers? "
It hasn't happened till now,
That a swan has loved a cow.

"No cow has ever loved a swan! "
They said to the cow and ranted on-
"Her feathers aren't pristine and pink
She hasn't a red beak for water to drink."

The cow said-
"She makes me whole,
She holds the key to my heart and soul,
She may not be perfect-
But for me, she's just correct."

"How can a swan adore a cow?
Ha! So, swans will love cows now? "
They mocked at them- but did it matter?
For they were absorbed in their own laughter.

The swan said-
"He may not be flawlessly white,
He maybe strange-in plain sight,
His heart is pure and that's all,
For him, my dear my heart calls."

"We won't be told who to love,
We are not mainstream, we've had enough! "
We will flow, where our hearts go,
Our love is unconventional- the world will always know,
We matched our jigsaw pieces and created perfection,
And finally, found perfection in our imperfections,
In the shelter of our weirdness, we have found,
Wonderful love that knows no bounds.
