Whose Fault? Poem by Maheen Wahid

Whose Fault?

Rating: 5.0

She was lying there as if she were dead
But everyone knew this wasnt so
A million hammers beating in her head
Nothing left for her to show

She knew what had happened could not be undone
So she lay there deadly pale
Her body was weighing more than a tonne
Her soul about to set sail

Her memories flickered across her eyes
How sweet had she been as a little girl
But she also remembered the horrible cries
Which marked an end to her world

'What was my fault? ' she asked again and again
Where did I go wrong?
Had I not been a jolly friend
Singing gleeful songs?

She remembered the scenes of the horrid war
Which totally destroyed her life
Those cries which she could not ignore
Were cutting her heart like a knife

Leaving her memories behind
She left for her eternal unit
Just one question encircled her mind
Whose fault was it?
