this one i could not parry
the most obvious of the query
this one came from an innocent mind
the one which got me in the bind

the one which took me way back
to all the books i had in my rucksack
to all the lessons i have ever mugged
to the problems which had me bugged

to all the integro-differential nonsense i ever solved
to all the tricky situations i was ever involved
to the eighteen years of structured educational brainwash
to all those mumbo-jumbo which now seems a hog wash


never was the problem so complex and yet so plain
than answering a three year old, as to 'why' does it rain

all the science and geography classes flew by
all the discovery stuff seemed so hi-fi
any one volunteering answer is still welcome to come by
for i have given up conjuring answers to this Why

to all the smart brains who aims to explain this why
let this moron go on record and have this warning ply
use all the grey cells and all your charm and sly
but beware your every plausible answer would be greeted by an equally plausible but an innocent Why? ........
