Why 1836? Poem by Paul Hartal

Why 1836?

The tiny subatomic particle proton
resides in the nucleus of the atom.
This positive unit of electricity
weighs 1,836 more than its counterpoise
the miniscule elementary particle electron,
which has negative electricity charge.
Why is the positron 1,836 times heavier,
why is it 1,836 times more massive than
the electron? Well, nobody knows!
This enigma just adds another baffling
finding to the list of nature's infinite
mysteries.

The number 1,836 itself is an intriguing
figure, in which by adding the first two
and last two digits we get 9. In fact,
the Number 9 features many interesting
arithmetical properties.
For example, if you multiply it
by itself, or by other digits,
the resulting sum of the two integers
will be again 9.
