Why Aren'T You Sad? Poem by Samantha Myers

Why Aren'T You Sad?

He’s leaving
My love is leaving
And he doesn’t even cry.
My love is leaving
And I hear no sorrow in his voice
I hear only words telling me “It’s fine,
Don’t cry. We have a month.”
Then, you’re leaving.
Will I hear sadness in your voice?

You said you had good news
You never told me your good news.
