Why Do I Love Thee Poem by Jarrod Sain

Why Do I Love Thee

Why do I love thee
An ask not easily given
Causing so much inner turmoil
But love requires she be forgiven

The feelings I have for you
Arrived with sudden gale force
Almost knocking me down
These emotions had no remorse

I thought I knew
What love was all about
One third of a lifetime
Has begun to make me doubt

Upon meeting you
That late chilly autumn night
Love's elusive knowledge returned
To fill my soul at the speed of light

So perhaps that initial query
Unanswered will have to do
But your heart can rest assured
I am so deeply in love with you
