Why Do I Smile? Poem by Aina Tumininu

Why Do I Smile?

Rating: 4.3

Listen to the rhythm in my heart
Melodious songs from the past
Awe, the mouth opens
What is the correlation?
What conjunction is in between?
Why do I smile?

Painful shadows from the past
My smile lights up the path
Ego of the sun cannot but bend
Yet my face wouldn't just blend
With the activities of my mind
So why so I smile?

A knife is plugged into love
Bleeding emotions in place of Red
Not in conjunct with the state of the heart
Worn on the face like the skate and the hat
Would pain begot a smile?
Then why do I smile?

The interior is throwing a punch
Exterior refusing to reciprocate
Despite the Iron rod of fate
Prying on the delicacy of my faith
And restricting the value of my hope
Why do I smile?
****** ******** ********** *******************

Mender of sole
Would you mend my troubled soul?
That the reciprocation of my litted face
May conspire with that of my wounded heart
So pretence wouldn't be the response
Why do I smile?
******** ********* ********** ********** *****

Think outside the box
See beyond reality
The whiteness of the sky
Supersedes the darkness of the soil
Admire and Desire
Wonder and Ponder
Compare and contrast
Concur with positivity
Then you'll arrive a conclusion
Why do I smile?
******** ******** ********* ********* ********

Smile is a strength
Minimizing the stretch
And reducing the stress
The glasses of hope
That shows you a brighter home
Microscope of faith
Which enlarges the value of fate
Smile is my strength
A special gift from the White
Listen to the rhythm in my heart
Why won't I smile?
