Why Does Love Hurt? Poem by Ciera Ivey

Why Does Love Hurt?

Agony in my heart.
Beckoning for you to come.
Tell me you're fine.
It hurts so much.
I cry for you.
I'm the stupid one.
Not you.
The guard I let down.
Mixed emotions run high.
No medication could bring it back down.
How could I let this happen?
Again.
And get hurt, again.
I should have went to sleep.
I was stupid for staying up.
What will tomorrow be like?
It's already tomorrow.
Wide awake.
No sleep.
I'm glad you're okay.
Then again, I knew you would be,
But am I?
