Why I Am Leaving Poem by Philip Mutuku

Why I Am Leaving

Rating: 4.5

When I look at you,
I get a heart ache.
Bad memories of that night,
give me a headache.

Why you wore the frown,
why you tore your gown,
what happened in town,
what had you so down,
is still a puzzle to this day.
One that wont go away.

For every effort to know why,
you give me a face so dry,
of emotion and clue.
I sulk and go blue.
When will this tension die,
and peace,
don't you miss the skies?
And our love once alive?

The questions keep piling,
and I am tired of filing,
questions never to be answered,
doubts never to be cleared.
This is goodbye,
and please do not try,
to make me stay,
for now I know, I belong away.

Walking away is always the best option whenever a once blissful relationship turns sour. I do not believe in stress nor tragedy in the bliss of love. A nice piece well written. Thanks for sharing.
