Why The Jute Box Played Poem by Richard Jarboe

Why The Jute Box Played

Bass and percussion mess with the world,
That's why the jute box played,
Tearing it up; tearing it down,
And waiting on good times delayed,

Good and evil mess with the scene,
That's why the jute box played,
Everybody messing with Mr. In-Between,
And waiting on good times delayed.

Now there ain't no jute box,
It's a relic from the past,
Ain't no forty-fives spinning around,
It all went down so fast,
Waiting on good times delayed,
That's why the jute box played.
