Wilderness Poem by Sandra Black

Wilderness

40 years in the wilderness
And then they found dew
Forty years for me too
And then I found you

You fill me with tenderness
And wild mildew
I am but mere putty now
Do with me as you will

I waited this long
I am sure I can wait some more
The promise of being with you
Leads me through distant lands

I wandered in the cold desert sands
I traversed through the skies
I waded all the oceans
Just to see your eyes

If I were to meet my maker now
I know I would be ready too
My mind has met it's match
There can be none but you

I shall be happy and satisfied
I have had a few morns with you
Shared a few sunrises
And hopefully some sunsets too

40 years or more passed away in a jiffy
But each second without you
Leaves me in a tiffy
If only you would say it's all true

I would never feel even a bit blue
I would scour the seas again
Soar the skies too
Only this time twud be anywhere with you
