Verily the path to quick wealth must lead the corrupt into poverty, ....the only explanation of the preceding sentence which 'makes sense' to ME is: some people may take in a lot of money by running non-profits and collecting a big salary. but i doubt the ones yelling at residents get rich! YES, a few 'good eggs', capable of showing compassion, like you, James, are nice to have around. you can be my roommate anytime! ! to MyPoemList. bri ;)

(cont.) confessional poetry, Is the hardest to write, when one must feel shame in the words that one writes and I do. WHY DO YOU feel shame! ? ? i hope not shame at your actions or thoughts. but yes, the poem speaks of some shameful conditions, but it may be 'as good as it gets' when one does not have enough of their own money or 'their own people' to watch over them and protect them in this sometimes-harsh world. my condolences to you.
