Window Poems Poem by Surya V.n

Window Poems

*
No window has Yesterday
All that they have is just Today
Try offering them yesterdays
saying, 'come on, keep these'
Posing as
the chill of the ice-cubes proving unbearable to the hands
they would let them slip away.
If they entertain yesterdays
the world would perish, buried deep down _ the windows know.
*
Inside the wide-open window
the river of visuals go swirling
A ‘She' keeps on trying to swim across the river
Every time she approaches the shore
It moves away, growing more distant.
But, inside the closed window
Dark desert keeps expanding.
Along that desert as the sand keeps sucking in
A ‘He' proceeds, dragging himself out.
Both of them were seeking each other
When they embrace
Windows can't be opened or shut.
*
For each window there is a frontier.
There at the border soldiers keep surveillance
moving around non-stop.
The watch-towers sway their heads
hither and thither.
All too suddenly
they shoot at each other, taking turns
Cannons go crawling
Fireballs fall in the manner of meteors.
The wind revisits
the Peace Treaty of the windows.
