Winds And Dreams Poem by David Blake

Winds And Dreams

I am caught between two conflicting
truths, love and hate. I fear not life
or regret but rather defeat and
shame. I once was one of the
children of tomorrow and now I am
growing old. What of my future or
humanity, the hopes that we might
one day set everything right? Where
are we now as we look back on the
warm summer nights, have we
aspired to those lofty things? Have
we grown wise, or rather lost the fire
and passion of youth only to pass it
on in this unending game?
