Winds Of Change Poem by Koketso Nonyane

Winds Of Change

Overcame hunger, starvation no longer a danger
Off we came to prosper, stagnation is now a stranger
Family has shelter, living conditions are better
Clothing for all weather, blankets for winter
The soil is fertile, water is plenty
Our souls ain't fragile, together we do plenty

Children at school, literate, have potential
Education a tool, open's life's gate, to be influential
Youth at university, prepared, to engineer new societies
Shunning adversity, determined, to inspire other generations
The older are cared for, not struggling like before
No more cheap labour, capitalism is over

Laughter in the house, happiness we do browse
After all our pains, weakness we now denounce
Life's no longer slavery, live we do with bravery
The winds of change have come, we have overcome
