Wine Be There For Drinking Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Wine Be There For Drinking

Wine be there for drinking
Under some cool tree in Hastings Gardens
In the red heat of summer
In the sweet ecstasy of swooning
In the swooning of pleasure
And
In the pleasure of swooning:
It cools the fiery ire
Of summer heat and dire
But not of song's desire
But not of bird throats singing
Wave on wave of sheer beauty unfolding
And sweet bird flying
And skies of them rising
And falling
And
Rising again
In the swoon of beauty
And falling yet
To Earth to rising!
