Winged Agony Poem by Khalid Hamid Changal

Winged Agony

Rating: 5.0

Like a bursting vessel
Pulsating, agonised and swell

Like a dropp of sweat on a buried body
Under the mud, cold cloudy

Like a fallen leaf of autmn chinar, never found
Crushed under the feet making a sweet sound

Like a broken string on a board of guitar
Playing alone away and far

Like a caged volcano longing to burst
Silenced buried crushed and pursed

Like the sun in the desert cruel
Adding fires to the naked fuel

Like the fire deep in the hell
Burning dead bones clapped on the bell

Like the man at the edge of the cliff, thinking
Jump, end or return

Like the tempest in the ocean's heart
Bursting, rising, throwing all apart

Like dead, burnt lying in smoke
Tired, defeated, gone and broke

We smile at ourselves
Holding tears in our eyes............
