Wings Of Time Poem by Leaford Shakes

Wings Of Time

There's a time to laugh and a time to cry'
A time to live and a time to die!
A time to love and a time to hate

a time to be punctual-never late

No time to idle, there's work to do.
Working for a living is good for you.

The time has come for all to see
The poor and vulnerable live in misery!
The time is now when we must build
Foundations which are sound and can be willed

t

To generations yet unborn
Whose future shall not be so forlorn.
Time marches on and does not stop
To do one's bidding- nor does it drop
A single microsecond from it's quest
To reach it's goal, nor will it rest!
Time marks progress- future, past, and present

It never stops, it goes right on in earnest
Counting the moments over which it flies
Giving credence to History when it applies.
Time, as an arrow wings it's way
O'er all the earth by night, by day
And singles out no special kith or kin
But bids each manage time if they must win.
Time's like an ever-flowing stream
Goes forgotten just like a dream.
Yet we recall good times and bad
When there were smiles or we were sad,
Time shapes, heals and separates
The bad from good, and reprobates
So we recognize time stands not still
In contemplation; move, it will!
