Winter Poem by Rhonda Baker

Winter

Winter
The last day of winter has come and gone
It left no big headline, or even a lasting song…
It came as any other day, with the birds and sun
It left in the usual way, with the moons last run
Did I make the most of it? Did I try in every way?
No! I wasted it, like any other day
I run on autopilot, each day it seems the same
How can I keep going, when it all seems in vain?
Where is my life’s compass? What direction should I take?
If I make a wrong turn, my world would surely break
Maybe the spring will melt away the snow that’s blinding me
Maybe tomorrow I will finally see
