Wish I Never Met You Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Wish I Never Met You

Yeah, I was young
Yeah, I was dumb
Did we belong? What'd you become?
How can I give, myself to you?
When you had none, no love for me
Can't turn to you
When at lowest of lows,
I didn't know, under you mask
A monster revealed, and frighten me
Did you not accomplish your task?
Was it your plan? to take control
Had to understand, this wouldn't work
Fought with the fact, I had to go
Convinced and yes it was a tough decision
Under the circumstances giving
Still I remain emotionally bruised
Was there any love or was I just being used
Yeah, I was young. Yeah, I was dumb
Understand now, we don't belong
Left insecure and mentally numbed
