Wished On Those... Poem by Nestor David Armas

Wished On Those...

I wished on those

Shooting stars

Even though I knew

They were only

Fireworks

Every explosion

Rattled through my heart

And took me back

To another time,

I'd shared this view

And the ocean waves

Your memories

Flooded through

Like an old broken roof

Splashing into buckets

Like pockets of dreams

I'd had once

I've tried to replace

And forget

But my heart just won't

Mend, the stitches burst

The only pain that brings me tears...
