you say another year started
and it should fill my heart
with happy tidings aplenty...

the storm that razed
hasn't abated
the dust the storm
blew on the face
couldn't be washed
how can any heart
sing like a bird heralding
a new dawn?
the birds lie huddled
in the branches
swaying to the stormy winds
the cloud laden sky
still remains still...
