With Sorrow My Heart Is Saddened
With sorrow my heart is saddened
My friends, kith and kin I no longer see
In whose presence I was gladdened
Who betimes had shared with me
With despair my spirit is aggrieved
For friends I had who passed away
Without a wave, and many promises unfulfilled
While they depart, the grief within me still I bear
