Within My Head Poem by Nick Jordan.

Within My Head

If you climbed inside my head for a day,
Who knows what you may find?
A vast expanse of wasteland
And an overactive mind,
There's all sorts of things going on in there,
Most of which I'm aware,
Although there's the odd little stray thought,
But usually that's quite rare!
There's dreams I had ten years ago,
Some of them unfulfilled,
Others left half undone,
With my life that I've tried to build,
There's memories past and present,
Nostalgic pictures stored,
And some stuff I try not to think about,
That's better off being ignored,
Memories of childhood and happiness,
And friends who've passed away,
Things that happened years ago,
That seemed like yesterday,
Memories of my babies,
That bring a tear to my eye,
(Like when my father died)
And my daughter said tenderly,
'daddy please don't cry.'
Inside my mind,
you may well find,
Some future plans as well!
But the future's unpredictable,
Like when I wasn't looking
And unexpectedly in love I fell.......
