Without True History Poem by Deanna Samuels

Without True History

Rating: 5.0

It's a difficult time
a time of so much hate
a time of so much distrust.
People against other people
students against other students
yet live in the same town, country

The new generation,
no understanding of real history
true history.
History not taught anymore
history taken out of context
being brought into the current mode

Fake history written
espouse the untruth
taken in by the youth
not knowing the facts
and real history is old hat.
Many to blame for this anomaly,
governments, regimes worldwide
re-write history with own ideology
true facts written out

Youth grow on this ‘new' history
minds not trained to further explore
shout hateful slogans
march on city streets
spewing unfounded lies
without benefit of truth
without understanding
as that is now the history

Youth are becoming zombies
manipulated by scheming elders.
What will become of them?
Perhaps the new cannon fodder
not of explosives on the battlefield
but explosives blowing the mind
controlled without realization
in every step taken.
Is that their future history ahead?
