Without You Poem by Danny The Dreamer Boyd

Without You

Without you I display a perfect shell,
Yet, you and I know hollow I'm within:
Since I saw you, you dove beneath my skin—
Perchance I'm only under your sweet spell!
Without you I still seem to dwell in Hell:
Return and once again be my Eden,
Let love and our eternity begin,
Forbid these intertwined lips from farewell!
Alas, I ken perfection's just a dream; —
I dreamt of salvation from this nightmare;
I'm met with damnation since you're not there…—
Perhaps two souls a perfect whole can be:
I'll break the chain and swim for you upstream
Until I'm gone—or at last you're with me!
