Without You Poem by Leigh French

Without You

Shortly after we met we were together,
only for a short time.
You said you loved me,
I said it back,
I meant it,
but you lied.
In that short time it felt like forever,
I thought it was going to last forever,
at least that's what you said,
but again you lied.
I smiled,
I laughed,
I was happy and i meant it.
Now I put on fake a smile,
I put on fake a laugh,
and I fake to be happy.
You act as if I was a stranger walking past you,
you ignore me completely.
But I haven't forgotten,
and never will.
And now I'm sitting here with a broken heart,
thinking about you,
and all the lies you told.
