Without You Here Poem by Jennifer Peckins

Without You Here

I constantly think of what to say
Words that won’t make you turn away
I’d bring you up on top to lay
That higher ground where we can stay
Forget we have to suffer everyday
I constantly think of what to say
Words that won’t make you turn away
I’d bring you up on top to lay
That higher ground where we can stay
Forget suffering everyday

Heads hung low
Bodies propped against the door
As the night moves on
I’m passed out on the floor
I’m so afraid to say
I don’t want anymore
That’s the way it has to be
When everything is up to me
Only closed eyes will see
Why the world appears so ugly

I constantly think of what to say
Words that won’t make you turn away
I’d bring you up on top to lay
That higher ground where we can stay
Forget we have to suffer everyday
I constantly think of what to say
Words that won’t make you turn away
I’d bring you up on top to lay
That higher ground where we can stay
Forget suffering everyday

I’m going a little crazy
Without you here
My only escape
Are these bloody tears
The days have passed
What’s this I’m feeling
Killing me now
Cuz my heart your stealing
