You sneaked into my heart without a sound,
and built a cosy little place for you there.
Though my demons held their ground,
you slayed them while I was still unaware.
All the smiles you sent my way were met with resistance.
All the hope you sailed my way were shunned by ignorance.
And each time I thought this is when you would cease to care,
you waged a new war with me, for me, no one else would dare.
I haven't understood why or how you can treat me like a queen,
especially when all I ever was extremely ruthless and mean.
After all this while, I don't know if you'll believe my words or set them aside as a lie,
but I promise you this today that I won't give up on you until the day I die.
