It takes but a single shaft of candlelight,
for darkness to be defied...
A simple sound, though very slight, and silence is denied
The softest touch from the one you love
can keep loneliness at bay,
and carry the night, stars and all, to the open arms of day
But not God in His heaven, nor the powers on earth
will change the course of one word, once that word's given birth
Whether spoken or sung-- once it's left your tongue--
a word 'on the wing' that has taken flight
is a wondrous thing-- full of magic and might
Should we honor our feelings, or rely on our sight?
Can we sit back in comfort,
while we question what's right? !
A word barely heard, can lift up your hopes,
or tear them apart...
Salvage a soul, or break someone's heart
It can give a man courage, to do battle in hell...
Bring a smile to one's face... Make a sick person well
Sometimes only a word is all that we need
to make us surrender, or try to succeed
It can raise our awareness... It can praise a good deed....
It can make complete what was hollow,
like the tree that has grown from the tiniest seed--
It can bring a blind man to follow, or make followers lead
With a word from the master, the slave is set free
With the word of a Pastor, hearts open, eyes close--
in order to 'see'
And heads bow in repose, upon prayer's bended knee
A word which is written can last for some time...
Like words cast in stone-- in fables and stories--
in poems set to rhyme
And you're fortunate to reach the summit you climb
if publishers of books, for each word, give a dime!
So remember that words can be special or trite...
Some can soothe like a kiss, or wound with a bite
Words can lure us to depths, or show us steps to great heights
And the best we can do is choose the words which we use
when words, like the stars, become beacons of light

I would like to translate this poem
Candle light wins darkness by light and motivates path of life. An interesting poem is very well penned with expressive mind.10
