Words Poem by Cece Garrison

Words

Words, words and still more words.
I confess my affair with words of all kind,
Words are the constant companions in my mind.
BIG WORDS, little words, words of love and cheer
This is my ode to all those words; those words I esteem most dear.

BIG WORDS that are not static,
Words like “IDIOSYNCRATIC”
Such words as these can set asunder
imaginings like rolling thunder.

Little words like “if” or “shy”
It's not for me to reason why.
They take their place with all the rest
and struggle not to be the best.

Which word do I today most love?
That word is PEACE sent from above
God knows I need more harmony
So words of peace DO comfort me.
