Words Poem by Jay Buezo Rodriguez (Jay Rodriguez)

Words

I sit here wanting to ask for her name,
but too scared to make a move.
Not sure if I know how to spit game,
I stand up and proceed with attitude.

She looked amazing,
She was curvy and eyes were gorgeous,
I felt like the curtain was raising,
And to get closer made me feel so nervous.

So I greet her with a smile,
and ask for her name.
seeming like I walked a mile,
I stood in front of her and felt a little lame.

'My name's Jay'
Hands in my pocket and arms extend
She looked the other way,
and smiled at her friend.

Smiling at me back,
but did not say a word.
gave me a note that was kinda blurred,
'I Can't Speak But I Like You Anyway'
Gave me a kiss and walked away.
Crying she went like I ruined her day.
I caught up to her and she heard me say.
'We both don't differ much and I want you to stay'.
