Words Poem by Kenneth Muhangi

Words

We both know why,
Yesterday stole our song,
We both know when,
Questions plagued our hearts,
And reason lost all meaning,
When time chose to stage a war,
Leaving us just loneliness,
And those thoughts that were ours,
Back when we could see,
And our hands clasped tight,
Holding on to nothingness,
Shed with tears,
At remorse so lost,
We seek to remember,
To never forget how our eyes made love,
And when tomorrow was all we sought to discover,
But now that I sit not one day away,
And I look at the sun whilst u stare at the stars,
Hold on if you dare,
Soon we shall be side by side,
But for now words are what will suffice,
Drenched in pain they linger with care,
Played down by the cry of a dream,
Ours to be for ever on end......
