Words Poem by Andjela Antic

Words

You know that feeling when you get sudden inspiration to write?
Well I get those a lot
And each time I want to write something like poems, usually
And it's just like in a blink
I stop just for a second of time and think
Maybe... Maybe all the poems are already written
Maybe that's why I don't have ideas right away
What if all the words I want to say Accidentally end up being said in some other poem?
What if I just can't write any because I can't find the right words to express my thoughts
The words are like sun who shines above the world
It enlighten us all with its illumination
We just have to see it
Open our eyes just a bit
Sometimes I do wonder what if all the rhymes are already used and I'll be end up left with nothing?
And I can't turn nothing into something
If all the letters went missing one day
And I'll be left with no words to say
I'll open up my mouth sure, voice is there but no words to be spoken
And how will I be sure there is even a voice at all?
How can I even talk when I make a call?
I get scared just by thinking about what could happen to the world without the power of words
Sign language isn't an option because in order to show it you need letters for each sign
And how will I express my love for something so devine?
I'm scared one day I'll wake up with no motivation, inspiration or voice
I am scared if people make a wrong choice
And just neglect the beauty of speaking
Of reading poetry or stories to children for good night
Don't you see that words are the power we read who give books the light?
What will happen to us all?
The world will be so dull
So very empty
What will fill that void?
Everything that matters will be forever destroyed
