Words Are Cheap. Poem by Carl Roussell

Words Are Cheap.

Our political leaders say so many words,
at election time so many promises;
raise the standard of living, cut violent crime,
but after you've voted they're not worth a dime.

Actions speak louder than words.

My mother always told me to mind my P's and Q's.
She imprinted on my mind - please and thank you's.
What she didn't know then I've come to understand,
but words are cheap, can you hear them now?

Actions will always speak louder than words.
