The Roads We Must Walk. Poem by Carl Roussell

The Roads We Must Walk.

Rating: 5.0

I keep looking back
But you're not there. Where are you?
Where have you gone to?
We're walking different roads,
Carrying different loads.

*I keep hoping that
If and when our roads do cross
That we might be there
At the same moment in time;
Set aside bone weary miles.

As the setting Sun
Falls on us, night covers us
In it's cool blanket,
Till the Sun comes once more
To light the roads we must walk.

*I keep hoping that
If and when our roads do cross
That we might be there
At that one moment in time
We would set it all aside.

So many times we asked ourselves that very question. Where are you? Life does get in the way at times but friendship and love always remains and waits for that moment when paths cross. A very nice poem of life and hope. with excellent expression,

Thanks Mahtab for the comment, Sometimes friendship and love can survive long periods of separation on this path of life.

We all walk different roads. Connecting we walk on. A well executed write. Some excellent lines. Example, in its cool blanket. The title would suit a lyrical song.
