Words Awaited Poem by Bening Parwitasukci

Words Awaited

My love,
I'm sorry for letting you go in anger
while waiting for my love expression.
Now I know there won't be another time,
another chance
since you've spread your wings to fly away
when that airplane was doomed to plunge
down the cold sea that blazed orange with the breaking dawn

That early morning
you just waited for me to say the words,
the magic words that you loved so much.
Only from my mouth it gave you the shiver
since you knew
those are the words of trust
of the promising love
that looked so fragile back at our beginning.
Those magic words confirm the us we'd wanted.
The strong us
that are ready to face the world.

Yet, I loved to see your excitement,
the sparks in your eyes made me greedy.
I wanted you to ask more,
to beg, even.
Since it really felt good when I knew you wanted me,
I did not give you the words cause they are precious,
the last weapon to make you love me even more.
So I told you to wait,
promising to give them when you were back.

My love,
Now is almost dawn,
the sea ablaze in orange light,
the colors that you loved so much,
of hope and strong fighting spirits you said.
I whisper to the wind
the words that you've waited from my mouth
"Oh my Beehoneyku sayang, I love you tomato."
