God’s Plan Poem by Bening Parwitasukci

God’s Plan

Can it be God’s plan that we met,
tangled in a problem in your first job,
letting me reach my hand out for you?

Can it be God’s plan that I helped,
when you were having a hard time
dealing with yourself,
letting me offer my hand to you?

Can it be God’s plan that you learn
to see the world through my eyes,
letting me be a teacher of life?

Can it be God’s plan that you observe
so well to see what life could give a soul,
letting me be an object of interests?

So far you have put yourself
as a child, a student, a friend to me.
And ooh........
how I enjoy your presence
as a child, a student, a friend.

Can it also be God’s plan that you are there
to hold my hands in the dark, cold aisle,
to accompany me in my lonely nights,
to raise me when I fall on my knees,
to love when my heart breaks,
to make sure that I keep on going?

Can it be God’s plan to let you be the one
to knock down my Berlin walls of arrogance,
leaving me naked in the pouring acid rain of life,
carressing the open bleeding wounds
with your curing saliva,
ripping my dead, barren heart,
replacing it with a healthy loving one?

Can it also be God’s plan
when you transform yourself from an ugly duckling,
from a child, a student, a friend,
into a beautiful, strong white swan,
a mother, a teacher, a lover?

Can it be God’s plan that you are becoming another me,
a better one of a newer version for sure?
Can it be God’s plan that there is you in my life
and me in yours?
Can it be God’s plan that now I need you more than ever,
that you need me to be there for you,
that we need each other badly,
that we need to stick together for a life time?

And oooh........ Let it be God’s plan
that you’ll stay in my life the longest possible.
Let it be God’s plan, please...
Let it be God’s plan
that you are mine and I am yours
forever and ever.
