Words I Dare Not Say Poem by Jayson Klarian Cortez

Words I Dare Not Say

I write not for fame

I write not for recognition

I write not for others approval of my decisions

I write the words I dare not say

The words I have been too afraid to convey

I write from the heart I know not if I hold

My poems are a padlock to a soul I have yet to unfold

I write them in hopes someone else can decipher

These thoughts that make my chest feel so much tighter

Perhaps if I leave the lock out in the open

Someone will hand me the key to what's unspoken

And maybe then will I understand

Why I fall in love

Yet feel like I can't.
