Working On A Dream Poem by Jan Horner

Working On A Dream

Too early the alarm clock rings
I stop its incessant noise
Before it wakes the others
I sit up with a yawn
And stretch to get going
Up, showered and dressed,
I run at dawn each morning
Focusing on my dream
The cobwebs clearing from my head
As I come alive with my workout
My body systemically works the routine
Allowing my mind to be someplace else
Until I focus again
Bringing all forces back into control
Afterwards, I sit and rest
While mentally visualizing my routine
Until I get all the moves just right
Then it is time to go
For another part of my regular day
Until tomorrow when it starts
All over again.
