The TB germ is lurking everywhere,
And India has most cases in the world;
Contained has been disease to some extent;
Large population keeps the figure high.
The prevalence/ incidence have declined;
The mortality has been curbed as well;
MDR TB isn't a problem big;
India is seventeenth in the burden list.
‘I am a TB victim-survivor!
Even mega-stars claim to be so too;
The memory of the suffering still remains;
Free India from this dreadful a disease.'
A survivor's tale causes awareness;
His/ her account is truly from the heart;
The old and young are both vulnerable;
The disease spares neither the poor nor rich.
If undetected, untreated, you die;
But things are better for patients these days;
A shorter course of treatment can bring cure;
Like Polio, India must be TB free.
The AIDS has worsened TB scenario;
The rising diabetes is reason too;
The statistics is better maintained but
Not all detected, take the drugs fully.
A lot more work has to be done as yet;
The war against TB isn't over still;
Success will smile if people cooperate;
Let's hope, the Koch's disease will soon be curbed.
