World That Not Yours; Could Be Ours Poem by Ashik Mahmud

World That Not Yours; Could Be Ours

Our world is not like yours
It's neither Indian nor European
Desert is far away
Bay is just an inch away
Yet, it's not like your world
It has soils, fruits and vegetables
Yet it is our world
That will not be your world
There are fishes who
Swim in river, not like Your Colonies
As you pretend to be fish under the sea, or
Cover the fishes under the ice, or
Or colonizing in a transparent bowl.
We have birds that fly in the sky
Not like yours that kill men with their metal eggs, or
As your electronic dinosaurs
that burst into fires and flames;
We have eggs of fleshy birds, we eat them
Because we are neither vegetarian nor cannibals.
Come here and eat our fish,
Come here and eat yummy bird eggs;
Stop pretending like fishes and mocking all humanity,
Stop flying those angry birds and killing humanity with eggs.
Come; let's fly a kite together this summer.
