Worship Poem by Truth Osumareton Egbe

Worship

When the music fades and I am left to ponder
When the pause comes and I stop to wonder
When the thrills of excitement and emotion are stripped away and I am left bare with nothing but my life
Who is my God?
Is He who was first still my first and my last and everything in between?
Does He still sit on His throne or to me just perhaps did He suddenly take a stroll?

Oh when the music begins to play again
And you are swayed from left to right and right again with its melodies
When you see the harmony of everything working together for your good
When you realize that the sweet whispers of string instruments and the drums although hard on you were bringing your life to this perfect sound
At the peak of your life, who is your God?
Is it the music - the coming together of everything or the maker of the music?

Who is my God when I hear the voice of the people loud and clear and their opinions and suggestions seem to force me to make a choice between the people and God?

Yes, your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit so you say no to your boss when he asks you to use what you have to get what you want but what kind of thoughts do you entertain when you are all alone, as if you body was less of God's when no one is watching

Who is our God?
Who is our first and all?
Who do we trust?
In whose arms do we take refuge?
Who do we worship?
Worship is more than the act of of bowing down and singing proclaiming King of Kings, Lord of Lord, the Maker of the Universe, the One Who was, is and is to come, the one who spoke and it came to be, the One who speaks and it comes to be
Worship is the intent behind the act
Worship is the response to the question "Who is your God? "
