Worst Mothers Day Present. Poem by Shannah Leigh

Worst Mothers Day Present.

There we were running away
running away from that fire we had lit that day.
But little did we know,
some guy would chase us down,
and hold us there until the cops could get down.
I felt so bad, so sad, and ashamed.
For lighting that fire I was the one to be blamed,
then the cops arrived at last.
I could feel my heart beating, oh so very fast.

The cop said who is to blame,
and the man who chased us down pointed at us,
as we walked near the cop in shame,
I had the biggest frown,
I had never messed up so bad in my life.

We were arrested at first..
but about two hours later..
they decided to let us go with a big fine,
a fine worth a thousand bucks.

Gee, what was I thinking oh shucks..
Than I walked home and into my house
and gave my mom the fine.
Then I said Happy Mothers Day..
and than I walked away.
