Worst Part Of The Beginning Poem by Leanna Page Markgraf

Worst Part Of The Beginning

I cannot get too close
or too attached to this.
It starts with a glance
and I could not resist the kiss.

It took me by surprise
but it still left me scared.
I felt ready for it
but yet so unprepared.

I tried to be careful
since love is such a fragile thing.
It can be so delightful
all the good it could bring.

But as fast as it started
you moved on to the next.
And I am left here wondering
why is love so complex?

From friends to lovers
but never lovers to friends,
the worst part of the beginning
is knowing there is an end.
