The Best Revenge Poem by Leanna Page Markgraf

The Best Revenge

Rating: 5.0

They say an eye for an eye

can leave the whole world blind.

So all I can do is pick up the pieces

of the mess you left behind.

I never knew you were capable

Of acting so cruel and cold.

But everyone has another side,

and another story to be told.

Words can never be unsaid,

Just like actions cannot be undone.

You reap is what you sew

This battle can never be won.

You gave up all hope

when you said you would always fight.

Only the strong can survive

the terrors through the night.

I will move on with all these pieces

and you will never be missed.

The best revenge is no revenge,

just forget that you exist.

You reap what you SOW, not what you SEW.
