Would You Poem by Jason Summers

Would You

I hear your voice as caressing as your touch
Even if everyone else thinks you talk too much.
You and I together or at home,
Would you still talk to me on the phone.

If I could I'd be there for you all the time
When you're happy, sad, or in a bind..
I'll never forget the times of low and high,
Would you be there for me if I needed to cry.

You told me that you like to drive
Either long of short distances you will strive.
If you had strong feelings which you didn't want to show,
Would you ask me not to leave, tell me not to go.

We separate each other for our own needs,
And fade from our relationship with no one to lead.
But, when I say I'm leaving and ready to go,
Would you ask me to stay forever as we continue to grow.

When we stay and if we last
With all our truth future, present, and past
I'll come to you with a stark white dove to have.
And if you felt strongly and were still afraid to tell me,
Would you have the courage to say you loved me.
