Writer In Training - Poem by Charlotte Ballard

As if knowing the
Words could somehow
Translate into
Cut checks and
Applause from
Tight-lipped critics –
To Fame that lasts
More than 15 minutes

    the task never ends
    and fame
    that's a different matter
    in today's world
    of 19 year old stars
    already faded
    a fine poem
