Yamabiko Poem by Sebastian Priotese

Yamabiko

You be my mountain and my valley
and I shall be the echo
that goes right through you
from an end to the other.
The moon shall pulsate above us
like a collapsed lung and I shall
plummet into you, a crevice
of peacock feathers and cherry flowers.
Too generous of an end for a poet.
